Back caption: The Bear Mountain Hudson River Bridge is the longest single span Bridge in the world, its central span being 1,632 feet in length. The total length of the bridge is 2,252 feet and its clear height above the river is 155 feet. It is the only bridge for vehicles across the Hudson River south of Albany and forms the much desired connecting link for the state roads on each side of the river.
